Individualized bibliotherapy – from words to deeper understanding
Write yourself into visibility. Read, recognize, and change.
Literary therapy offers a gentle and powerful way to explore your inner self, deal with life's pain points, and unleash your creativity. At the wordsmith's office, words are not just ink on paper—they are bridges to change, insight, and healing.
Who is literary therapy for?
Individual therapy is for you if:
You are going through a life change (e.g., divorce, bereavement, parenthood, menopause, a new stage in life)
You need support to structure your experiences and feelings
You want to explore yourself more deeply through writing and reading.
You are searching for your own voice, creativity, or a new direction.
You want gentle but deep processing without performance pressure
No previous writing experience is necessary for therapy. All you need is the desire to be heard—first by yourself and then by me.
My services are specifically aimed at people who are struggling at turning points in their lives. Whether it's the joys and sorrows of motherhood, the self-reflection that comes with menopause, the pain of loss, or the upheaval of divorce, these are not just challenges but also opportunities for profound personal growth. With carefully selected readings and reflective writing exercises, I help my clients navigate these waters and find strength and clarity in the midst of change.
What happens during individual meetings?
Each meeting is personal, tailored to your needs and life situation. We use literature, writing, and discussion as mirrors, insights, and treatments.
First meeting
We get to know each other and explore together:
At what stage of your life's journey are you?
What are your hopes and goals?
Does bibliotherapy feel like the right approach for you?
The first visit is a gentle start – no tests, no screenings. Together, we will create a space where you feel seen, heard, and safe.
The course and methods of therapy
Literature therapy progresses at your own pace, and the process evolves with you. I use the following methods, among others:
Selected texts: poems, stories, novel excerpts, song lyrics, or even postcards
Writing exercises: stream of consciousness, themed prompts, letters, or guided visualization
Discussion: your texts and writings serve as starting points for joint reflection
Visual and sensory stimuli: objects, pictures, music, scents – we evoke memories and experiences through multiple channels.
Your writing will not be graded—it will be listened to. It can be raw, unfinished, contradictory—just as life often is.
Welcome on a journey where words are not just ink on paper, even if they look like ink at first glance.
What is bibliotherapy and how does it work?
In many ways, literacy therapy refers to a therapeutic process of interaction involving the therapist or counsellor, the client in individual therapy and the members of the group in group therapy.
In literary therapy, you will read from texts, write yourself and discuss the feelings and thoughts evoked by the texts you read and write. Literary therapy is based on the idea that it is easier to approach one's own problems and feelings through written texts than directly. Texts can help you to identify things and feelings that have previously been hidden or for which you have not even had words.
I, your guide, Sananhaltijasi, ANNAMARI TYPPÖ, will accompany you on your journey.
My mission in this world is to guide you through the process of change that reading and writing make possible. I will help you find a space where words not only tell stories but also heal wounds and bring about change.
