Dive into words, weave verses, craft poems – a poetry retreat at Inkala Manor in Hattula, January 16–17, 2027

The poems are like breaths: small, light and yet full of meaning. They stop us in our rush, open doors to our inner selves and reach out towards something bigger than everyday life.

This weekend is an invitation to pause and reflect on poetry. You can let time slow down, words linger and verses flow. You can be silent or share, write or listen, read at your leisure. All is right.

Float on the waves of poems, dive into verses

For two days, we live in and through poetry. We will read, listen, write and share.

You will experience poetry in many different ways:

  • We'll start the weekend with a favourite recipe that everyone brings with them. We read them out loud and write our own verses. Finally, we weave the verses into a collective poem.

  • We write our own poems, exploring the meanings of words and what is left between the lines.

  • In the evening, we relax with poems in a goodnight poetry session and let the words lead us to sleep.

  • On Sunday, we start the new day in gentle silence. We let the thoughts, feelings and dreams of the night settle on paper, without rush and without demands.

  • From silence, we gradually begin to return to the world of words: we read, share and discuss. We listen to each other's poems and reflect on the traces the weekend has left on us.

Finally, together we put together the threads of the retreat and say what we want to take with us into our everyday lives.

The Poetry Retreat is for you who...

  • you need a chance to stop and calm down

  • want to deepen your connection with poetry as a reader or writer

  • you want to write without pressure to perform

  • you find time to think your thoughts and put them into words.

Poetry doesn't require knowledge - it just requires the desire to be in the words. All you need is to be interested and curious.
